Chuck Jones Center for Creativity has partnered this year with Heritage Auctions to bring you online pre-bidding for the Fifth Annual Red Dot Auction at their website, www.HA.com. Bidding is now open! Here’s your chance to peruse the delightful and impressive selection of artwork submitted by artists from around the country and place a bid on them! Bidding starts at just $100!Many of today’s giants of animation will be contributing works to the auction, including Eric Goldberg, director of Fantasia 2000 and the Genie in Aladdin; Kelly Asbury, director of the box-office smash Gnomeo and Juliet; Jeff DeGrandis, former producer of Dora the Explorer and now at DreamWorks; Academy Award winner, author, and NYU professor of animation at the Tisch School of the Arts, John Canemaker, and syndicated comic strip artist of Dennis the Menace, Ron Ferdinand. Chuck Jones Center for Creativity presents Creativity Season: The 'Un'Gala, A Looney Masquerade where "character required, costume optional" is the motto. Join us Saturday, October 11, 2014 from 6 to 10 PM for an 'un'gala like none you have ever been to before with Silent and Live Auctions, Creativity Stations (Mask Making, Performance Poetry by Jacqueline Suskin, Caricatures by Naylene, Photo Booth, Hands-on Animation, Guitar Playing, Mural Painting to Beautify the Orange County Zoo), and Creative Culinary Delights provided by 24 Carrots, CeCe Le Creme, Susan Heaton--Authentic Chef, and other local Cuisine Artists! Buy your tickets by October 10, 2014 for $50 per person or $75 per at the door the night of the event. A limited number of VIP tickets for $100 per person are available. VIP tickets include hosted bar and a gift bag. But that's not all, folks! A few months ago my daughter and I were checking out a new shopping center called the SoCo as a friend told me there was a shop there that had the best coffee in town.
