Portfolio preparation is an integral part of the application process for OCSA (Orange County School of the Arts). Our teaching artists can help you prepare your portfolio for this two-step process. Portfolio preparation can make or break your chances of acceptance into OCSA and other art schools.
Beyond providing prompts, technique, and guidance through the specified required works for the student’s portfolio, we help students find their voice for the required personal statement. We also critique all works to determine which are best to exhibit in Round Two of the application process to the Visual Arts Conservatory at OCSA.
In general we find students (even those with incredible talent) lack the working knowledge and vocabulary pertaining to the elements of art and the design principles. We prep students by having them use this art vocabulary while describing their work and during the interview process.
