Production has just wrapped up for this year’s Cartooning & Animation Summer Camp here at the Center! Last week, our classroom was packed with 17 student filmmakers, all talented, eager, and excited to create. During this week long camp, students learned step-by-step how to create characters in Chuck’s unique way, giving life to their ideas and creations. They got a glimpse into the history of animation by watching clips from Chuck’s old cartoons and learned to create and paint their own animation cel.
Once students were ready to build their film, they learned the steps from storyboarding to putting their art into motion using a stop motion app on iPad. Students created characters, props, and backgrounds for their films, and finished by adding sound. From moth men to magic remotes, the films were amazing! Take a look for yourself!
